Judy Banker at the Village Tap

The Village Tap, 235 East Main Street, Manchester, MI

Looking forward to this gig as featured artist for the popular Village Tap open mic night. I'll be joined by band mate David Roof for a 45 minute opener where we'll be playing my original tunes and a few favorite covers. The Village Tap has is one of those neighborhood fixtures where everyone goes for a great burger and good local music. Hope you can join us---and if you are inclined, bring your instrument and sign up to play the open mic! They run some of the best sound around with always a great turnout!

Join us at this historic Detroit neighborhood where we'll join over 50 musical acts at 3 venues, including Lager House, Nancy Whiskeys, and The Gaelic League. This is a benefit show with proceeds going to 4 Paws 1 Heart, a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to reduce the number of homeless cats & dogs by paying for needed medical treatment and assisting with the permanent placement of these animals through their partnerships with local rescue groups. We'll be performing at The Gaelic League, Friday, 7:30pm. Please come and hang with us. It's going to be a blast! $20 all access Wristband pre sales coming soon!

Looking forward to taking part in this wonderful benefit, Monday, 12/26 outside in a heated tent at the Witch's Hat Brewery, South Lyon, to collect socks for the unhoused. Last year this effort collected over 1800 pairs of new socks to donate. Hope to do even better this year! The Judy Banker Band will play a set around 4:00 or so. Check back here for updated timing. Music goes from 1 - 8 pm . Admission is a pair of new socks. Posting the graphic from last year -- will update with the new one as soon as we have it!

Annual Concert for Peace at The Ark - Ann Arbor

Always so gratified to be a part of this annual Concert for Peace at The Ark-Ann Arbor in support of the work of Veterans for Peace, Chapter 93. Organized by Michigan folk hero, Chris Buhalis, this concert features a roster of Michigan's finest artists. This year my trio with Dave Roof & John Sperendi is in a lineup that includes : Chris Buhalis - emcee, Laith Al-Saadi, Dave Boutette & Kristi Davis, Kevin Brown & Jud Branam, Annie & Rod Capps, Rochelle Clark, Dave Keeney & Sophia Hanifi, Shari Kane & Dave Steele, Billy King, Dick Siegel, Michael Smith, and Rollie Tussing. For the first time ever I get to team up with my lifelong friend, Blues queen Shari Kane, and her husband, renowned Bluesman Dave Steele, for an evening of music at the beautiful and intimate Trinity House Theatre, Sat. Oct. 29, 8:00 pm. We'll each be playing a set and may join each other on a few tunes. I'll have my bandmates Dave Roof & John Sperendi with me. Looking forward to this night at THT, blowing off the roof as we celebrate many years of friendship and music!

40th Anniversary Revival of Jay Stielstra's North Country Opera

The Old Art Building will host our third performance of Jay Stielstra's North Country Opera, Wed. 10/12. We are pleased to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this beloved play along with the 100th anniversary of the Old Art Building. Tickets will go on sale through the Old Art Building website. 40th Anniversary Revival of Jay Stielstra's North Country Opera

I'm thrilled to be serving as Music Director for the 40th Anniversary Revival of my good friend, Michigan songwriting and playwright treasure, Jay Stielstra's beloved folk musical North Country Opera. We will open our northern Michigan performance tour Fri. Oct. 7 and Sat. Oct. 8 with performances at the iconic Green River Schoolhouse in Mancelona. We will have subsequent performances Wed. Oct. 12 at the Old Art Building in Leland, Fri. Oct. 14 on the stage at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts, and a finale performance at The Ark-Ann Arbor, Tues. Oct. 18. Ticketing will be online for the Green River Schoolhouse and through the websites of the other venues. Visit northcountryopera.org for updates on ticket sales.
