“I’m going home to the golden meadows, hawkweed orange and hawkweed yellow” –Jay Stielstra Legendary Michigan songwriter, Jay Stielstra, whose life and art will long be remembered by our Michigan community, has left us a treasured legacy of unforgettable songs, musical plays, and other writings. To celebrate Jay’s life and music, a roster of beloved Michigan musicians, many of whom have performed with Jay, or in his plays throughout the years, will bring the songs from Jay’s many musical plays, including North Country Opera, Old Man In Love, and more, to the The Ark stage. The lineup includes: Mr. B, Chris Buhalis, Judy Banker, Dave Boutette & Kristi Davis, Annie & Rod Capps, Cheryl Dawdy, Matt Jones, Christina McMullen, David Menefee, Mustard’s Retreat, Peter Madcat Ruth, Dick Siegel Trio, San and Emily Slomovits, Michael Smith, Matt Watroba, and the North Country Opera’s Buckhorn Bar Band w/ David Roof, Charlie Reischl, Judy Banker & Dave Keeney.
